Two men spotted in 'stolen vehicle' arrested by police in Wyre

Two men have been arrested after they were caught driving a vehicle which police believe was stolen from an address in Blackpool.

A vehicle was stopped by officers who were patrolling the Saint Michael's on Wyre area in the early hours of yesterday morning (Monday, January 18).

The two occupants of the car attempted to run away from the scene but were quickly arrested nearby.

Police said they believe the car was stolen from an address in the resort, and may also be linked to a burglary which took place in the Claughton-On-Brock area in December.

The two men – both aged 43, one from Blackpool and one from Gloucester - were arrested on "suspicion of burglary at a dwelling, burglary not at a dwelling and going equipped for burglary."

They remain in custody for questioning.
