Crews from Blackpool and South Shore were called to a flat fire on Regent Road at around 11.48am today (Monday, February 25).

Three fire engines were sent to tackle the blaze.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Two dogs were rescued from the flat by firefighters.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Three fire engines from Blackpool and South Shore were called to a flat fire on Regent Road, Blackpool.

"Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

"Two dogs were rescued by firefighters."

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
