Two children climbing on the roof of several buildings retrieved by firefighters in Blackpool

Police have had to respond to three calls of a similar nature in just two days in Blackpool town centre.

Two children who were spotted climbing on the roof of several buildings were retrieved by firefighters in Blackpool this morning (May 20).

This is third time in two days that officers have had to respond to calls of this nature in the town centre, according to police.

They are now asking parents to check where their children are going when they are leaving the house to prevent serious injuries.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "This took up policing resources along with two pumps from Lancashire Fire and Rescue in order to retrieve them from the roof.

"We understand that the majority of children are not at school and want to enjoy the sunshine, but if your child leaves the house please make sure you know where they are otherwise we could be knocking on your door to return your child or even worse asking you to attend the morgue."
