A MAN sent chilling messages to his former girlfriend over social network Twitter, Blackpool Magistrates’ Court heard.

Jordan Tirckovic, 23, sent messages that he was going to stab her and her new boyfriend.

Tirckovic, of Langdale Road, Mereside, admitted harassing her.

He was put on a four month curfew and made the subject of a restraining order for 12 months during which time he must not contact his former partner or enter Fleetwood Road North, Thornton, where she lives.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said when the couple split up he started to send abusive and threatening messages on Twitter.

He changed his Twitter account after getting a warning and the messages continued.

David Charnley, defending, said: “He accepts his responses were inappropriate and he has learned a salutory lesson.”
