A husband who was banned from contacting his wife was found drinking tea at her home after a tip-off to police.

Shayne Hawkins, 48, formerly of Peter Street, Blackpool, now living at St Stephens Avenue, Willenhall, Walsall, pleaded guilty to breaching his bail.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Hawkins had been bailed on condition he did not contact his wife, or enter the resort’s Peter Street.

Police got information that Hawkins was living with his wife at her address in Peter Street. On October 31 an officer went to the first floor flat and found the defendant drinking tea with his wife.

John McLaren, defending, said his client’s wife had asked him to go round because some problems had arisen while they had been separated which she wanted to discuss with him.

Blackpool magistrates agreed to rebail him with the additional condition that he must live at his given address.
