A man’s tiredness at the wheel caused two crashes, a court was told.

James Kendrick, 30, shunted a parked car 30 yards along a road before driving off.

Then he knocked over a telegraph pole and also drove off, magistrates heard.

Kendrick of Seniors Drive, Cleveleys, admitted twice failing stop after an accident, two charges of driving without due care and possessing amphetamine.

Blackpool Magistrates’ Court ordered pre sentence reports to be completed on Kendrick.

He told the court: “I panicked after the crashes. I am having difficulty sleeping because I have started working nights.

“I used the drug to keep me awake.”
