A man threatened to shoot door security staff and rape police officers wives.
Gary Wolstenholme, 38, of Waterloo Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20 costs with £20 victims’ surcharge. Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said police were called to the Walkabout nightclub on June 1 at 2.45am, where doorstaff had restrained Wolstenholme on the ground after he threw a punch at them, then threatened to get a gun and shoot them.
When police arrived Wolstenholme repeatedly made threats to rape officers wives and kill them.
Hugh Pond, defending, said three days before the offence Wolstenholme’s wife left him taking with her the daughter he adored and he had been unable to trace her.
He had not been out drinking for 17 years but he went out and drank to excess. He apologised for his behaviour.
