A SOLDIER accused a man of kissing him in a bar before punching him in the face.

Connor Hammond was also found to have live ammunition under his bed during a police search.

Hammond, 20, who is stationed at Weeton Army Camp, Weeton, near Kirkham, admitted wounding causing grievous bodily harm.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing seven rounds of 5.56mm ammunition without a firearms certificate.

The victim and a friend were in Blackpool’s Che Bar, on Talbot Square, on January 25.

The victim’s friend knew Hammond and spoke to him.

Hammond then went over and collided shoulder-to-shoulder with the victim, so they ended up face-to face.

Hammond swore and said: “He kissed me” before punching the victim, who suffered multiple fractures of his left eye-socket and cheekbones.

The defendant was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court for sentence on April 11 by Blackpool magistrates.
