THREE men accused of threatening a shop assistant with a ripped tin can during an armed robbery at a Blackpool supermarket have made their first appearance at court.
Martin Reddy, 40, Joseph Barrington, 62, and Darren Owen, 30, all of no fixed address, are charged with robbery at Booze Busters, Dickson Road, North Shore, stealing a £3.69 bottle of alcopop.
The offence is said to have taken place on Saturday afternoon.
Sharon Child, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court.
Defence lawyers said all three defendants had indicated they would plead guilty to the offence and did not ask for bail.
The defendants were sent in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on March 8 by District Judge Margaret McCormack sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
