Three young boys have been questioned over a suspected arson attack at a stone masonry yard.

Garstang Reclamation’s shed, off Normoss Road, Normoss, was destroyed by the fire which happened on Thursday morning.

Firefighters used several hundred gallons of water to tackle the blaze, described as “a serious fire” by watch manager Mark Warwick, from Blackpool fire station.

It took two crews from Blackpool and one from Bispham more than an hour an hour to bring it under control.

Three Blackpool boys – aged 12, 13 and 14– were initially questioned in police custody on suspicion of arson.

They have now been bailed until October 9.

Both Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are continuing their investigations into the cause of the fire.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene at 8.50am on Thursday.

The blaze destroyed a large amount of storage materials and stonemasonry machinery found within the confines of the shed.
