Cannabis worth thousands of pounds was discovered at a "drugs den" in St Annes, say police.

Fylde Police were called out to reports of an assault on St Albans Road on Tuesday.

Officers attended, but found the house was not occupied and instead discovered a large amount of cannabis.

A spokesman for Fylde Police said: "Following reports of an assault, officers attended an unoccupied property.

"They entered the flat with concern for the occupants. The officers discovered a drugs den and seized a large amount of cannabis.

"The street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be thousands of pounds.

"Cannabis may be legal in Sainte Anne, Canada, but it’s not in St Annes, Lancashire.

"If you think this cannabis belongs to you, please give us a call or email us StAnnes.NPT@lancashire.pnn.police.uk."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via email or on 101.
