Police are appealing for information after thieves stripped thousands of pounds of metal out of a disused bar.
The crooks ransacked the former The Edge nightclub, in Kirkham, and stole £100,000 of sinks, toilets, boilers and pipework.
Officers have carried out door-to-door inquiries in the area and are now appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the former club on Preston Street to get in touch.
The theft happened during a month-long period between the beginning of March and the start of April.
PC Andy Rigby, from Kirkham police station, said: “The thieves smashed in the back door and they must have been in there some time because it really has taken some time to strip.
“Everything was metal, it was a very modern place and they’ve even taken the metal sinks and toilets.
“The bar was partly metal and they have also taken the metal strip that you stand on at the bar, the strips that go in between the doors – anything that is metal has gone.”
PC Rigby said all the wiring had also been stripped out, along with the boiler.
He believes the premises was deliberately targeted, and said the raiders responsible must have had a vehicle parked nearby.
He added: “It has been deliberately targeted and they would have had to have a vehicle.
“I’m appealing for anyone who has seen anything suspicious, anybody loitering in the area or anybody trying to get rid of these distinctive sinks and toilets.
“Boilers can come from anywhere but metal sinks and toilets are not that common.”
