Thief’s £567 in bags of toiletries

A MAN stole £567 of razors and toiletries from a shop during two visits on the same day.

Andrew Mee, 22, of Beach Road, Cleveleys, pleaded guilty to theft.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said Mee first went into Wilkinsons, Victoria Road West, Cleveleys, at 10.57am on February 28.

He went to the rear of the shop out of shot of a CCTV camera and then left the store with a full bag he was carrying.

He returned at 3.37pm, carried out the same manoeuvre and left with two full bags.

He was identified by police from other camera footage in the store.

Gerry Coyle, defending, said Mee, who had a drugs problems, was easily influenced by others.

Mee intended turning his life round as his girlfriend was expecting a baby and he was looking forward to being a good parent.

He was sentenced to 12 months’ supervision and ordered to pay £250 compensation by Blackpool magistrates.
