A thief upset primary school children when he stole the computer containing the sound effects for the nativity play they were to perform at school that day.

Rickey Allen sneaked into Devonshire Primary School, when it was open for a Brownies meeting and took the laptop along with other electrical equipment.

Allen, 31, of Stirling Road, Layton, pleaded guilty to burglary.

He was refused bail and remanded in custody by Blackpool magistrates.

As he was being taken down Allen saluted and shouted out.

Presiding magistrate, Charles Tracey, asked for the file to be marked showing Allen’s foul language to the bench.
