The victim of a brutal assault is so determined to catch his attacker he had put up a £50 reward for anyone who can supply information that leads to his arrest.

The 49-year-old victim lost three teeth and suffered a cut lip when he was attacked in a taxi queue after a night out with friends in Poulton.

Officers said the unprovoked attack happened at around 10pm on Friday December 20 when the victim was stood near to a queue of people waiting for taxis at Poulton Cabs on Blackpool Old Road.

Police said one of the customers in the queue spoke to the victim before punching him in the face.

The assault left the victim needing dental surgery to re-implant the three lost teeth and stitches to his cut lip.

After the incident, the attacker is thought to have climbed into a taxi and left the scene.

The victim is now offering a £50 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible.

Officers investigating the incident are re-appealing for information and have released a CCTV image of a man they want to identify and speak to.

PC Andrea Banks, of Poulton Police, said: “We have released CCTV images of a man we are looking to speak to in connection with the assault and I would appeal to anybody that recognises this man to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the taxi queue that evening and witnessed the incident to come forward.

“The victim sustained serious injuries during this attack and has decided to put up a £50 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of those responsible.

“Anyone with information should call 101.”
