TEENAGERS accused of carrying out a knife attack on an elderly transsexual have appeared in court.

The two 17-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are accused of causing grievous bodily harm to the 62-year-old alleged victim.

The attack, in which the man was slashed across a hand and stabbed in the cheek, is said to have happened in a house on George Street, Blackpool.

The duo appeared before Blackpool Youth Court.

They are jointly charged with the serious assault, aggravated burglary of the man’s house and theft.

They are further charged with having offensive weapons – a bread knife and a carving knife.

They are also charged in connection with a separate incident on Gorton Street, Blackpool, where they are alleged to have used threatening behaviour to a security officer and burglary at a flat.

Magistrates sent the case to Preston Crown Court.
