Teenager suffers brutal attack

A TEENAGER was brutally attacked outside a nightclub.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after the 18-year-old was assaulted outside the Residence nightclub in Poulton.

The victim, who is from Poulton, was punched and kicked in the head. He was knocked unconscious and fell to the ground.

As he lay defenceless on the floor, his attackers pounced again.

An ambulance was called and the victim was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital to be treated for cuts and bruises.

The incident happened around 2.20am on Sunday, August 14 at the Residence club on Vicarage Road.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Det Con Carl Pritchard, from Fleetwood CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who has information about this assault to come forward. The victim suffered serious injuries and was at one point unconscious.

“This is a nasty assault and those responsible need to be caught and brought to justice.

“We are carrying out a number of inquiries including CCTV and would ask that anyone with information contact us on 0845 1 25 35 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The offender is described as in his early 20s and of stocky build. He has blonde hair with a ‘v’ at the back.
