Teenager rushed to hospital after being stabbed following fight at Blackpool park

A 19-year-old man was stabbed following an altercation with a group of people at Crossland Road Park in Blackpool.

Police were called to reports a man had been assaulted at Crossland Road Park at around 6.30pm yesterday (Monday, June 6).

On arrival, officers discovered a 19-year-old man had been stabbed in the leg after an altercation broke out between a "small" group of people, who police believe may know each other.

The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment where he remains.

An air ambulance, rapid response vehicle and land ambulance attended the scene, North West Ambulance Service have confirmed.

A spokesperson for Lancashire police said: "We attended and found an altercation had broken out between a small group of people, during which time a 19-year-old man had been stabbed to his leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains.

"An area of the park was closed while investigators attended.

"At this time we believe all parties involved were known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public."

No arrests have been made as of yet, but police enquiries are ongoing.
