A SCHOOLBOY has been robbed at knife-point on a Layton street.
The teenager was walking home from St Mary’s Catholic College when he was attacked on Onslow Road on Thursday.
A man approached the boy and asked for his mobile phone, before he was dragged into a nearby alleyway while a woman searched his bag.
The man discovered the boy’s mobile after searching him - and when the teenager refused to reveal his password he held a knife to his throat.
Police have now launched an investigation into the robbery, which happened between 2pm and 2.20pm.
The man is described as being around 5ft 10ins tall and between 17 and 19 years old.
He was wearing a dark waterproof top with the hood up, a bandana round his face and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.
The woman is described as being a similar age, around 5ft 6ins and was also wearing a waterproof top and bandana, with heavy eye make-up.
