Teen broke girlfriend's arm in rage over sleep

A teenager twisted and broke his girlfriend's arm when she tried to get him out of bed.

Dailen Royle said he had anger management problems and lost his temper when his girlfriend kept nipping and kicking him as he tried to sleep.

Royle, a 19-year-old carpet fitter, of Pickmere Avenue, South Shore, pleaded guilty to assault and causing damage.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks’ jail suspended for 12 months with up to 30 days’ rehabilitation to be supervised by the Probation Service and ordered to pay compensation of £900 to his victim with £85 costs plus £115 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

He was also put on a 12- month restraining order which bans him from contacting the victim or entering Tynedale Road.

Royle wanted to address his anger issues.
