A thief who layed in wait for a pensioner to withdraw money from a cash machine has been jailed.
Daniel Adamski, 31, targeted the woman in her 80s simply because she was “vulnerable”, detectives said today.
Adamski, of St Davids Road South, St Annes, was jailed for two years at Preston Crown Court for robbery and two months, to run consecutively, for burglary.
He robbed the woman of £400 in cash following the incident in St Annes town centre on November 28.
He also stole power tools from Fylde Paving on St Davids Road South on December 4.
Det Sgt Simon Pritchard, of Blackpool CID, said: “He approached a lone female walking the streets of St Annes.
“He targeted her due to her age.
“He watched her withdraw cash from the bank and preyed on her because she was vulnerable.
“He pushed her and stole her handbag, it must have been terrifying for her.”
