STABBING: Victim set for hospital release as manhunt goes on

A woman stabbed in an alleyway robbery is expected to be released from hospital later, detectives say.

The 41-year-old suffered two puncture wounds to the stomach in what police believe was a targeted but isolated attack.

It happened at around 8.50am yesterday, in an alleybetween Edenvale Avenue and Hesketh Avenue in Bispham.

The woman was walking back from a cash machine when she was robbed of a ‘small’ quantity of money, police said.

Her injuries were not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made, and officers are continuing to appeal for information.

The attacker was described as white, and was wearing a hoodie and possibly a hat.
