It is the second stabbing in South Shore in just two days after a man was seen bleeding in the street following an attack at a property on Lindale Gardens the day before.

Police were called to St Heliers Road at around 7pm on Wednesday, where there was a reported disturbance.

It is thought a verbal argument escalated and a scuffle broke out, during which the 30-year-old victim, who is local to the area, received stab wounds.

A 29-year-old man was yesterday being quizzed by detectives after handing himself in to police.

He said a 29-year-old man from Blackpool had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and was being questioned by police.

Det Sgt Reid added: “We are not asking for any further witnesses or searching for anyone else in relation to this offence.”

On Tuesday, a 22-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed at a property on Lindale Gardens.

The victim suffered heavy blood loss but later discharged himself from hospital.

Three people were arrested and released on police bail following the attack.
