Spate of burglaries in Thornton prompts increase in police patrols

Three houses have been burgled in Thornton prompting police to urge residents to stay "vigilant".

Three houses were burgled in Trunnah Gardens between approximately 2pm and 10pm on Friday, January 22, police said.

Two of the houses were reportedly broken into by force and one via an open window, with all three houses unoccupied at the time.

Officers said enquires are ongoing and they are now asking anyone with information to get in touch.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We're asking you to be vigilant and have a look at our crime prevention advice after three recent burglaries at Trunnah Gardens, Thornton.

"If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time it happened or you have any information which could help us please give us a call on 101 quoting log reference LC-20210122-1504."

Police added patrols will be increased in the local area, but they are also asking residents to take steps to make sure their homes are secure.
