'˜Skinful' drinker in court rap for abuse

A man pushed past a woman police officer helping a member of the public and swore at her saying 'move out of my way,' a court was told.

David Cunliffe-Barnes, 45, of Chester Avenue, Poulton, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

Presiding magistrate, Neil Atkinson, told him: “We don’t condone this kind of behaviour.”

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said a woman police officer was on Ball Street, Poulton, helping up a member of the public who had fallen over at 12.10am.

Cunliffe-Barnes swore and pushed past her. Five minutes later he was abusive and said to her “what are you staring at.”

He told magistrates: “I had had a skinful.”

He was fined £45 with £85 costs and ordered to pay £30 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
