A MAN’S decision to drive just 15 yards has cost him his licence.

Blackpool Magistrates’ Court heard how Ian Freeman was trying to turn a Vauxhall car round near the Wacky Warehouse childrens’ play area at the Air Balloon pub on Squires Gate Lane, South Shore.

But police saw the 49-year-old driving down the wrong side of the road while doing his manoeuvre and breath tested him.

Unemployed defendant Freeman, of Grizedale Avenue, admitted drink driving when he appeared before Blackpool magistrates.

Steven Duffy, defending, said: “My client said he had travelled just fifteen yards when the police stopped him.

“He was clearly over the drink drive limit.”

Magistrates fined him £100 and imposed £100 costs and banned him from the road for two years.
