He was sentenced to a three-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Steven Townley, defending, told magistrates Wright said he was ‘out of it’ on drugs at the time.

The offence took place when Wright went to collect a prescription for heroin substitute methadone.

Wright had returned to the shop and apologised. He had been allowed to continue to collect his prescription from that store.
