The home of a known sex offender has been targeted after leaflets about the man were distributed around his home town.
The leaflet, containing the full name and address of the offender, warns parents of the “dangerous man” and was sent to homes on Ashfield Road and Kincraig Place, near Bispham, shortly after his release from a prison sentence.
Police say after the leaflets went out, a number of incidents of criminal damage to a property in the area were reported to officers.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said: “In Lancashire, public safety is our top priority and arrangements for managing offenders in the community are always made with this in mind.
“We understand that the public are concerned about convicted criminals living within their neighbourhoods and we would want to reassure people that we work very closely with the Probation Service and the Prison Service to ensure that our communities are protected.
“Any member of the public can contact either the police or the probation service if they have any concerns.”
