A sex offender who failed to appear in court has been charged by police.

Phil Jones, 22, aka Phil Page was wanted for failing to appear at Blackpool Magistrates Court for an offence of theft and assault.

He was arrested on Saturday at a home in South Shore and has been charged with two failure to appear warrants and will appear before Blackpool Magistrates.

The warrants relate to the theft from a vehicle on July 20 where he failed to appear at the town’s magistrates court on September 24 and an assault committed on August 16 where he again failed to appear on October 31.

Jones is a registered sex offender who was convicted at Preston Crown Court in 2010 for sexual activity with a child under 16 years, namely a 14 year old girl.

He was jailed for 21 months and required to be on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
