The 16-year-old Blackpool boy, who can not be named for legal reasons, had been given a caution by police after he admitted sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

The boy has now appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court which agreed to put him on an eight weeks interim Sexual Risk Order.

After being cautioned, the boy was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 12 months and must notify police of his address.

The Sexual Risk Order bans the boy from having or seeking any contact or communication with any girl under 16, unless inadvertent, other than with the permission of the female’s parent or guardian, who must be aware of the order.
