A PRIMARY school has been forced to close after thieves stripped copper piping from the roof, leaving it without water.

Anchorsholme Primary School, on Eastpines Drive, was targeted by thieves sometime between 7.30pm last night and 6.30am this morning.

It left the school’s roof flooded and no working toilets or sinks, meaning pupils have been unable to attend today.

The theft was reported to police this morning and an investigation is now underway.
