Rowing man in nightclub attack

Jordan Powers, 23, of Anson Close, St Annes, pleaded guilty to assault at Blackpool Magistrates Court.

Prosecutor, Adrian Hollamby, said Powers and his girlfriend were in The Loft club on September 5. They argued and Powers pushed her over. She was not injured but she was embarrassed about the way he had treated her.

At the time of the offence Powers had been on an 18 weeks prison sentence suspended for 12 months for assaulting his mother.

Kathryn Jamieson-Sinclair, defending, said that Powers, who was reconciled with his mother, had an alcohol problem in the respect that when he drank he reacted negatively if faced with conflict.

Powers was bailed for pre-sentence reports.

He must not contact his girlfriend or enter Vicarage Lane, Marton, as conditions of his bail.
