A Blackpool man who tried to confuse police by give a false name and birth date was caught out by his tattoos.

Blackpool magistrates heard that Daniel Keating was questioned by police after he parked a car on the town’s Orme Street.

He told an officer that his name was Tom Inskip, born in December 1991.

But when the officer checked the details, tattoos on the man’s body did not match those on the police computer for Inskip.

Keating admitted driving while disqualified and obstructing the police. The 23-year-old was bailed pending the preparation of reports.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Keating, of Orme Street, had been banned for dangerous driving and the ban does not end until 2018.

Martin Hillson, defending, said labourer Keating had bought the car for £450 for the use of his pregnant girlfriend.

He had been tempted to drive it to the shops at night when the police saw him park up on the pavement outside the couple’s home.
