A WANTED man is believed to have carried out a spate of car crimes while on the run from police.
Ciaron Lonsdale is being hunted by officers in Blackpool in connection with dozens of crimes across the Fylde coast – but has so far managed to evade capture.
Officers believe he is still in the resort, and now there is a £1,000 reward on offer for information which leads to the 21-year-old being put behind bars.
Insp Jason Richardson, geographic inspector at Blackpool central, told The Gazette: “Lonsdale is prolific at stealing from cars and vehicles.
“We suspect him of lots and lots of offences – he has been stealing from across Blackpool and the Fylde.
“He is a big problem.
“We’ve had a number of vehicles broken into in recent weeks, specifically with tools stolen, and this male is wanted in connection with some of those offences.”
And Lonsdale – whose last known address was on Birchway Avenue, Layton – is also wanted for failing to appear in the magistrates’ court twice, in Pontefract and in Blackpool.
Insp Richardson added: “We have been hunting him for about a week, and he has managed to evade us.
“He is wanted for failing to appear in court twice and we want to arrest him on suspicion of stealing from vehicles.
“The two charges he has failed to appear on are both suspicion of theft.
“He is believed to be in the Blackpool area and this is very much an appeal for anyone who knows where he is to come forward.”
A potential reward of up to £1,000 has been offered by Crimestoppers following the arrest and charge of Lonsdale.
