A MAN punched a taxi driver in the chest and kicked his cab after a night out.

Joseph Koseda, 23, of Gloucester Avenue, South Shore, admitted assault and causing damage.

Blackpool magistrates heard Koseda and three women asked the driver to be taken to Troutbeck Avenue in Fleetwood on March 13, but they then started arguing about who would pay the fare.

The driver threatened to take the women to the police station, and Koseda said: “I don’t care, I will kill you.”

He punched the driver in the chest, then kicked and punched the taxi.

Koseda, who had no previous convictions, had been drinking and had mental health problems.

He was given a 12 month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £100 compensation and £15 victims’ surcharge.
