RESIDENTS in Layton will meet with police to discuss issues with anti-social behaviour in the streets surrounding their homes.
Locals have complained to officers about problems in Ascot Road, Cambridge Road and Durham Road on an almost nightly basis.
The meeting, to be held at the Surestart Centre on Gorton Street from 6pm on August 4, comes after police put in force an operation to stem loutish behaviour on Caunce Street, mainly in the area around the sports barn, during the evenings.
After increasing the police presence in the area officers said they had only received nine complaints during the entire month of June.
They also put officers into the area around the post office on Bryan Road in a bid to stop people street drinking in the mornings.
Following that action they only received one call about the issue in June.
The Police and Community Together (PACT) meeting will see officers, including community beat manager June Dorrian, attend to try to answer any concerns local residents may have.
