£16,000 of cannabis found in car travelling into Blackpool

Police pulled up a car driving into Blackpool and found £16,000 of cannabis in the boot.

Wayne Peart was found with 40 bags of cannabis and £500 in cash, District Judge Jeff Brailsford was told at Blackpool Magistrates Court.

Peart, 35, formerly of Malvern Road, Lytham who also has an address in Chorlton, Manchester, was travelling into Blackpool with his partner and their two young children.

A police search of Peart’s Malvern Road home also resulted in £350 in cash being found.

Peart pleaded guilty to possessing the drug with intent to supply. He has 27 previous convictions including one for cultivating cannabis.

Peart was sent for sentence at Preston Crown Court. He was remanded in custody to December 2.
