A woman described as a prolific shoplifter stole almost £1,000 of goods from shops in St Annes and South Shore.

Nicola Lord, 37, of Lytham Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to three thefts and one attempted theft.

She was sentenced to 60 days in prison suspended for 12 months, given one year’s supervision and ordered to pay £82 compensation by District Judge Roger Lowe sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutors said Lord took £82 of brandy and beef from Booths and, on a separate occasion, attempted to take brandy and beef valued at £52 from the same shop in August last year.

On April 16 this year, Lord was in St Annes and stole £475 of cosmetics from Superdrug and £422 of perfumes from Boots.
