A prolific shoplifter who raided four stores in one day has been jailed.

Kieron Clarke, 24, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to four offences of theft at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison by the bench.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Clarke stole £152 of goods at Morrisons, wine and steak costing £47 from Tesco and tee-shirts valued at £150 from a Sports Direct store.

The incidents happened on November 21, in Morecambe.

He also took air fresheners and curtains costing £56 from B and M Bargains in Lancaster.

He was recognised from CCTV footage stills, the court was told.

John McLaren, defending, said his client, who was already serving a 23-month sentence for dishonesty offences and shoplifting, had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.
