A one-man crime wave who committed 12 offences has been sent to prison.

Scott Standring carried out 10 thefts, assaulted a woman and kicked a policeman during his spree of offending.

He was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison by Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said between February and May Standring stole on 10 occasions from various Blackpool supermarkets, taking almost £1,000 of property, including razor blades and alcohol.

On April 26, Standring kicked a policeman on the arm as officers tried to arrest him after he stole whisky and food from a store.

On May 7, a woman was playing machines at a Warwick Amusement Centre when Standring grabbed her pot of cash.

Patrick Nelligan, defending, said his client had an alcohol problem and he understood the seriousness of what he had done.
