Pregnant girlfriend attacked by partner

A care worker carried out an attack on his pregnant girlfriend which culminated in him rolling her up in a duvet and yanking her off the bed hurting her back.

Stephen Linley lost his temper after they had a row on July 30 at 5.30pm, a court was told.

Linley, 25, of St Martin’s Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to assault and causing £200 of damage.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community order with up to 20 days’ rehabilitation to be supervised by the Probation Service, ordered to do 120 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £85 costs with £85 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Presiding magistrate, Stuart Gay, told him: “If your behaviour carries on this way it is highly likely you will go to prison.”

The couple had stayed together and Linley had sought help for his anger.
