A care worker carried out an attack on his pregnant girlfriend which culminated in him rolling her up in a duvet and yanking her off the bed hurting her back.

Stephen Linley lost his temper after they had a row on July 30 at 5.30pm, a court was told.

If your behaviour carries on this way it is highly likely you will go to prison

Linley, 25, of St Martin’s Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to assault and causing £200 of damage.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community order with up to 20 days’ rehabilitation to be supervised by the Probation Service, ordered to do 120 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £85 costs with £85 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Presiding magistrate, Stuart Gay, told him: “If your behaviour carries on this way it is highly likely you will go to prison.”

The couple had stayed together and Linley had sought help for his anger.
