Blackpool Football Club’s official match announcer Anthony Parr has made his first appearance at court accused of striking a man.

Parr, a 48-year-old decorator, of Phillip Street, Marton, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man.

Prosecutor, Tracy Yates, said that on October 19 Parr headbutted his former partner’s new partner.

Defence lawyer, Jessica Partington, asked for the case to be adjourned to obtain legal aid for Parr.

Parr was bailed by Blackpool magistrates on the condition he did not contact the complainant.
