A man repeatedly shouted vile comments to police.

Mark Webster, of Regent Road, Blackpool, plead guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Webster repeatedly swore at police on June 15 between about 9pm and 1am.

He was drunk and was warned about his behaviour, but would not stop.

Webster, 47, told magistrates: “I was provoked by a police officer in front of people. He threatened to take me down a side street and give me a kicking.”

Ms Smith said the prosecution did not accept the claim was true.

Webster was fined £35 with £85 costs and ordered to pay a £150 court charge plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
