Police have issued a description of a man wanted in connection with the rape of a young woman.

Witnesses who helped Blackpool rape victim are urged to come forward

The 23-year-old called police at around 8am on Sunday and reported that she had been attacked in the early hours of the morning.

Police have now appealed to local hoteliers who may recognise the man wanted in connection with the crime.

He is described as white, 5ft 5in tall, with a slim build and cropped hair.

He has tattoos on his arms, is believed to have spoken with a Birmingham accent. He may have been wearing a blue T-shirt at the time of the attack.

It is believed the man was in Kaos Bar on Queen Street around 4.15am on Sunday, and was later seen at the junction of Talbot Road and Dickson Road around 5am.

Det Chf Insp Becky Smith said: “It is possible the man we want to locate was staying at a hotel in the resort.

“I would ask any hoteliers who recognise the man described to contact us.

“We also believe the victim was helped by a man and woman in the Queen’s Promenade area after the offence, sometime between 5.30am and 6.30am. If this was you, please come forward and contact police.” Call police on 101 quoting log reference 0443 of October 1.
