Police impose dispersal order in large area of Blackpool

Blackpool police have tonight issued a dispersal order following reports of anti-social behaviour.

The order covers a wide area of North Shore and Layton.

Blackpool police tweeted: "Today Insp Hannon has authorised a dispersal order under Sec 34 Anti Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 after reports of ASB and criminal behaviour in the area.

"This will last till midnight."

The order gives a constable in uniform to direct a person who is in a public place in the locality specified in the authorisation

(a)to leave the locality (or part of the locality), and

(b)not to return to the locality (or part of the locality) for the period specified in the direction.

The order covers an area from around the North Pier and Talbot Square area across to Devonshire Road and almost up to Gynn Square.
