Police hunt railway robber

POLICE today called for the public’s help after a man was attacked and robbed.

Officers have released an electronic EvoFit of the robber (left) who assaulted a 23-year-old man at Ansdell and Fairhaven Station railway station.

The incident happened at around 7.45pm on Friday August 3, while the victim was in the waiting shelter on the

station platform.

He was approached by the offender who punched him once in the face and stole his wallet.

The wallet contained £14 in cash, some cash cards and identity cards.

The offender was reported to have been seen at the station earlier in the evening.

He is described as being white, in his early 20s, about 6ft 2in tall and well built.

He has short dark hair and was reported to be wearing a dark green hoody, black tracksuit bottoms, a black t-shirt and black Adidas trainers.

Anyone who recognises the description of the offender, or who has information relating to the incident, is urged to contact British Transport Police on 0800 405040.
