Police hunt pair over resort fire attack

Detectives investigating a serious incident in Blackpool where a man was allegedly held prisoner 
before having his face set on fire are searching for two people.

Allan Mark Smith, 39, formerly of Lynn Grove and Clair Debra Louise Potts, 32, formerly of Cambridge Road, are wanted by police in connection with the reported attack on a 29-year-old man.

Four people have already been charged over the incident, which took place on February 7.

Det Sgt Mark Dickinson, of Blackpool CID, said: “We believe a man in this case was subjected to an assault where accelerants were poured onto his face and ignited. If anyone knows of the whereabouts of Smith or Potts, I would urge them to contact us as soon as possible.”

Andrew Southern, 35, of Lynn Grove, North Shore was charged with false imprisonment, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possessing a class B drug.

Jonathon Stemburski, 34, of Church Street, Blackpool, and David Potts, 31, of no fixed address, were both charged with false imprisonment and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).

A 17-year-old from Blackpool was charged with false imprisonment, perverting the course of justice and ABH.
