Police hunt for street attacker

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 22-year-old man was assaulted as he walked along a street in Blackpool.

The victim was walking along Park Road when a man approached him and, without provocation punched him in his left eye, causing him to fall on the ground.

PC Naomi Hart, from Blackpool Police, said: “This was a totally unprovoked attack.

It happened between 7pm and 7.30pm on Thursday, May 24, on a busy town centre road with numerous pedestrians and cars in the area. ”

The offender is white, clean-shaven with short, dark-brown shaven hair.

He also had a tattoo to his chest and arm.
