Detectives have named a Polish man they believe was with Marcin Pawlow, 30, when he was stabbed in the hip, thigh and shoulder.

Wojcieh Sylwester Sobisz, 36, is thought to have fled the resort shortly after the attack on December 23 and the hunt has widened beyond the Fylde coast.

The victim, also from Poland, was found on Central Drive, where he lay in the street covered in blood, at around 1am.

Police have focused inquiries on a nearby property where he is thought to have spent the evening with a number of men known to each other, one of whom detectives believe was Sobisz.

The Gazette understands police have obtained CCTV thought to be of him, although the images have not been released.

Police believe the 36-year-old may have headed to the Midlands and police in the area have been alerted.

He is described as white, around 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, of muscular build and has shaved head. He wore a grey hooded top, grey jogging trousers and a blue long-sleeved zipped hooded jacket.

Det Supt Andy Murphy, of Lancashire Police, said: “We would like to identify this
individual as soon as possible.

“We believe he was in the Central Drive area on the night of Mr Pawlow’s death and are keen to trace him.”

Mr Pawlow was rushed to hospital after being found by paramedics, who alerted police, but he died from his injuries.

Six men, aged between 31 and 52, were arrested on
suspicion of murder and quizzed by detectives but all have since been released without charge.
